Issue Tracking and Log Gathering
Make Provisioning allows you to create and update new Teams, sites, and groups. Since the service runs in a cloud environment, unforeseen issues may occur during these actions.
If issues arise, follow these steps to gather the necessary log files for troubleshooting:
Step 1: Locate the Failed Item
- Navigate to the Make Provisioning web portal and select the Home.
- Search or browse to the failed item. The queue provides a clear identification of failed items, indicated by a red status error.
(Figure 1: Make queue fail)
Step 2: Gather Request Parameters
- Click on the Title of the failed item to view the exact parameters used when the request was executed.
- Copy these parameters to a text file in case the support desk asks you to share them.
(Figure 2: Request parameters)
Step 3: Download the Execution Logs
- Click on the Log icon in the Log column to open the detailed execution logs.
- You can download these logs to share them with the support desk.
Troubleshooting and Retry Options
Retry the Request
In some cases, Microsoft 365 might provide transient errors due to component unavailability.
You can easily retry the exact same request with the same settings by clicking on the Requeue button. This will restart the Make process and generate new logs, helping determine if the error was Microsoft 365-related.
Template or Parameter Errors
When an error occurs, the issue is most likely a minor error in the template or the parameters.
- The logging makes it easy to spot where in the template an error occurred.
- The last line of logging before the error is a good starting point for investigation.
If these steps do not resolve the problem, please contact the Make support team for further assistance.
