Providing Access

Providing Access

To use the Make Provisioning Web application, users require two distinct sets of permissions: access to the Make Provisioning Azure Website and permissions to manage the Make templates in SharePoint.

Permission Governance Principles

  • The allocation of Make Provisioning Azure Website access and SharePoint template management permissions can be done independently. You may restrict template editing permissions to a subset of users.
  • It is a best practice for functional administrators to possess both sets of permissions to maintain full operational control.

1. Granting Access to the Make Provisioning Azure Website (Enterprise Application)

Users must be granted access to the “Make” Enterprise Application in Azure Active Directory (Azure AD).

Steps to Add a User:

  1. Navigate to: Azure Portal > Azure Active Directory > Enterprise Applications.
  2. Ensure the filter “Application Type” is set to “All Applications”.
  3. Search for Make.

  4. Select the Make application.
  5. Click on “Assign users and groups” and add the desired user or group.

2. Granting Permissions to Manage Templates (SharePoint)

Once a user is added to the Make Provisioning website, they also need permissions to manage the Make templates. These permissions are handled directly in SharePoint.

Each Make installation has a dedicated SharePoint site collection attached to it.

Steps to Grant Template Management Permissions:

  1. Navigate to the Make Provisioning SharePoint site.
