Make Provisioning 1.1: Security, Storage and other improvements
Make Provisioning 1.1 delivers targeted improvements to the authentication layer, storage configuration, and SharePoint taxonomy support, building on the .NET 8 platform introduced in 1.0.
Notable Updates:
- The Graph API authentication mechanism has been updated to support certificate-based authentication
- Sensitive configuration values have been moved to environment variables
- Unnecessary storage account components removed from solution.
- Taxonomy Field Support while creating a request
Security Refinements
The Graph API authentication mechanism has been updated to support certificate-based authentication, improving security and enabling non-interactive service scenarios. Configuration values that were previously stored in the application configuration file have been moved to environment variables, aligning with Azure best practices for secrets management.
Storage Account Simplification
Unnecessary storage account components creation steps have been removed from the installation and provisioning process, reducing infrastructure footprint and simplifying deployments.
Taxonomy Field Support
You can now define taxonomy fields in a provisioning request. This allows users to choose managed metadata column values during the Apply Configuration step.
